Dating back to 1670, Warre's is one of the oldest British Port houses, known for a refined and balanced style within the Douro Valley. This Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is produced from a single vintage, selected for its quality and structure, and crafted primarily from traditional grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. It offers an alternative to Vintage Port, providing a similar depth while being ready to drink earlier.
After fermentation and fortification, the wine is aged in large oak vats for an extended period, typically between four and six years, before bottling. This prolonged maturation allows the wine to soften and integrate while retaining much of its original fruit character. The style bridges the gap between youthful Ruby Ports and more structured Vintage expressions, positioned in the mid to premium tier as a balanced and accessible yet characterful option.
