Brandy can be found in many widely varying varieties around the world, but all have their origins in the distillation of wine. Other fruit wine distillates may also be known as "brandy", but much of what we see as Brandy generally is distilled from grape wine. Of all brandies, Cognac is by a long margin the most famous, but to focus on Cognac is to ignore the host of different and unique Brandies produced elsewhere in the world. The Sherry producers of Spain produce their own unique style of Brandy, as do Germany and Greece. There is a whole world of brandy to discover!
