Molinari was created in 1945, when Angelo Molinari decided to use his distilling expertise to create an anise liqueur like those which had been popular since the 1800s and in doing so created the world's first commercial sambuca. His unique formula distinguished itself from other anise liqueurs of the time and grew to become the best-selling liqueur in Italy.
The quality of Molinari's liqueur has been recognised by the Italian government, designating their sambuca as the only brand permitted to be called "Sambuca Extra". Molinari have since taken their expertise to create a further range of high quality spirits rooted in Italian traditions and flavours. |
