Golden Dawn
Ingredients:
Add all the ingredients except the grenadine into a cocktail shaker with ice. SHAKE vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a dash of grenadine. This gives the effect of a glorious sunshine, hence the name "Golden Dawn".
This pre-dinner cocktail won the International Cocktail Competition in London in 1930. Nine years later, Walter A. Madigan made a Golden Dawn without the Calvados and was runner-up at the International Cocktail Championship of the World in London in 1939. He should have stuck to the original recipe!
