Ingredients:
75ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
15ml Noilly Prat Original Dry Vermouth
The Gibson cocktail is a sophisticated twist on the classic Martini, distinguished by its unique garnish—a pickled onion. This subtle variation imparts a delicate, savoury note, making it a favourite among discerning cocktail enthusiasts.

Preparation:
  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour in 50ml of gin and 10ml of dry vermouth.
  3. Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.
  4. Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  5. Garnish with a pickled onion to complete the classic Gibson presentation.


Background:
Some myths surround the creation of this cocktail. In all likelihood it was invented in the 1940's for American artist Charles Dana Gibson at The Player's Club, New York. As there was no olives immediately available, the bartender used a white pearl onion.
