French 75

Ingredients:
25ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
5ml Giffard Gomme Syrup
15ml Fresh Lemon Juice
115ml Laurent Perrier Brut NV Champagne
The French 75 is a classic cocktail that elegantly combines the boldness of gin with the effervescence of Champagne, resulting in a refreshing and sophisticated drink. This timeless beverage has been a favourite since its creation in the early 20th century.

Preparation:
  1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the gin, fresh lemon juice, and sugar syrup.
  2. Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled Champagne flute.
  4. Top up with Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut NV Champagne.
  5. Garnish with a lemon twist for an added touch of elegance.

 

Background:
Created by Henry from Henry's Bar, Paris, this drink was inspired by the fire power of the famous French 75 light field gun, used during the First World War. Originally starting life as "75 Cocktail", the ingredients were added to after the War and it became known as the French 75.
