A wonderful way to end a meal, Mentzendorff Kummel, served ice cold - is a great digestif. It's history is long and fascinating, tracing its roots back over four centuries. Kummel is a schnapps-like liqueur flavoured with a type of caraway seed. The whistle-clean spicy flavours blend superbly with the just off-dry spirit.
Background: Mentzendorff Kummel was founded in 1823 in Riga, Latvia. As Allasch Kummel it was widely imitated throughout Europe and much respected. Nowadays Menzendorff Kummel is distilled by Combier in the Loire in their world-famous stills designed by Gustave Eiffel.
