Martin Miller's Gin, unlike other gins, selects its ingredients based on quality, not regional provenance. Feeling that juniper crops were often variable in their output from year to year, Martin Miller chose to source his ingredients from wherever he could find the very best. The ten botanicals used are distilled in two batches in copper pot stills. Into the first distillate go the citrus flavours: lemon, lime and bitter orange peels. The second distillate is flavoured with the remaining seven botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, liquorice root, nutmeg and Florentine iris. The two distillates are then blended to create the resulting gin. By distilling the citrus elements separately, a greater freshness is imparted to the citrus notes in the gin. The gin is blended to bottling strength using Icelandic spring water, the purest water found anywhere in the world, to make Martin Miller's Gin gentle and exceptionally smooth. |
