Whisky Liqueurs derive from an ancient tradition in the early days of whisky distillation. Early whiskies would certainly not have been the highly refined products we see today and the sometimes dubious spirits would have been blended with herbs and honey to mask the taste. Today's Whisky Liqueurs are far from unrefined though, blending fine malt and grain whisky with other flavours to create an excellent alternative to whisky for those with a sweeter tooth. |
