Magnum bottle. Laurent Perrier La Cuvee is the first new champagne to be introduced by the house since 1981. Though a replacement for Laurent Perrier's traditional Brut NV expression, it is far more than simply a new label, with an entirely new composition. A pale straw colour with fine, persistent perlage. Laurent Perrier La Cuvee has delicate, fresh citrus aromas with light floral notes. An exquisite balance between freshness and finesse with a rich and complex palate. Good length in the finish. Laurent Perrier have invested heavily in more vineyards to give them greater control over the quality of fruit used. In the creation of La Cuvee, over 100 crus are drawn upon, giving the champagne great complexity. the wine then spends an extra year in the cellar, ageing for a total of four years on the lees before release. A greater proportion of Chardonnay grape is used in La Cuvee, almost twice that commonly found in other champagne, giving the expression greater freshness and elegance. A greater proportion of reserve wines are also used, providing a more consistent house style between harvests. In addition, a lower dosage is used to create a brighter and cleaner style of wine. Presented in a cream Laurent Perrier branded box. |
