Over 200 years of tradition go into producing Jim Beam bourbon whiskey. Dating back to the late 18th century Jim Beam's legacy began with Johannes "Reginald" Beam, a Kentucky farmer who produced his own whiskey in the bourbon style from his corn crops, and sold his first barrels in 1795. He called it Old Jake Beam. His son took over at the age of 18 and expanded the business through the industrial revolution, but it was James Beam, the fourth generation of the family, whose name would appear on the bottle for his commendable efforts rebuilding the business after prohibition ended.
Today, Jim Beam is one of the best-selling brands of bourbon in the world, with a diverse range of whiskies with a number of them performing highly at international spirits ratings competitions. |
