Description

Description:

Magnum, 1.5 litre bottle. Errazuriz Estate Reserva Malbec has a ruby red colour with violet hues and floral aromas that are so typical from this grape variety, accompanied by liquorice and ripe red and black fruits. On the palate are revealed notes of vanilla, chocolate, soft touches of cherries and plums and a subtle finish that has hints of sweet spices. A wine with a soft palate and polished tannins that make it pleasant and smooth with significant volume and medium persistence.

Vineyards: The grapes for Estate Reserva Malbec come primarily from the Errazuriz MAX vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley. Located in the valley interior, the vineyard features soils that are mainly colluvial in origin, with a predominantly loamy to clay-loam texture. The special soil nutrition and drainage conditions among the different soils help to control vigour in the vines, leading to a balanced fruit load, with small clusters and berries.

Vintage: The 2019 season was dry and warm. The absence of rains ensured the splendid conditions of the grapes. The harvest went out earlier, as it was a dry season. The quality of the vineyards was demonstrated once thanks to the climatic fluctuations, droughts, and high temperatures, delivering grapes of excellent condition and superb concentration, all to the benefit of preserving the aromas and acidity of the wines.

Winemaking: The grapes were hand-picked in the early hours, inspected in a double selection table, then crushed, and placed in stainless steel tanks ready to be fermented. Maceration lasted a total of 15 to 25 days. 80% of the wine was aged for 8 months in oak barrels.
