CVNE Cune Imperial Rioja Gran Reserva is a benchmark Gran Reserva from Rioja legends CVNE. The 2015 vintage was a much antipicated release. Well worth the wait, we are presented with a brooding and dark wine with a perfect level of spice. The wine was aged for two years in French and American oak.
On the nose, you are presented with rich cherry blossom aromas, vanilla, leather and dark chocolate. The palate is bursting with bright red and black fruit flavours that bring freshness to this classic, smooth and luxurious red Rioja. Sweet spices dance in the background. Succulent, concentrated and power that's hidden beneath the pure, elegant fruit flavours. This balance is in harmony with an evolving freshness and pleasant saline notes that play on the finish. |
