Carpano dates back to 1786 when Antonio Benedetto Carpano, a herbalist studying in Turin, devised a formula that would lead to what we now know as vermouth. Owning a wine shop close to the Royal Palace, and so confident in the quality of his new product, Carpano sent a crate of his drink to King Vittorio Amedeo III who took an immediate liking to it.
Over the years, Carpano grew to become Turin's favourite drink, and despite great technological changes since it's conception, the basic production methods of Carpano remain the same as ever. |
