Bushmills 21 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey is undoubtedly the pride and joy of the distilling heritage at Bushmills. It is matured for a minimum of 19 years in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. In it's final 2 years of ageing, it is matured in Madeira casks. This unique combination of woods gives this 21 year old an enjoyable depth of flavour. Dried fruit flavours are interweaved with spicy malt and toasted raisin notes. Full and sweet on the nose, with notes of soft spice and orange peel. It has a smooth texture on the palate with an intense finish of liquorice and oak.
All casks are carefully selected for ageing Bushmill whiskeys. These are absolutely essential, so its most important close ties are maintained with cask-makers in Europe including Spain and Portugal and America. Once shipped to the Bushmills distillery the casks are filled and left to mature peacefully, working there magic over time to give Bushmills whiskey the enjoyable, rich, mellow and distinctive flavour.
