Bunnahabhain Canasta Cask Matured Feis Ile 2023 has been released in celebration of Fèis Ìle 2023 (Islay Festival). This limited edition bottling is in the true unpeated Bunnahabhain style combined with the sweet and spicy character of sherry. It's been exclusively matured in rare Canasta sherry casks. It comes bursting with sweet fruit, nuts and spice notes.
The whisky has been matured in rare William and Humbert Canasta sherry casks. These casks once held a blend of Oloroso (75%) and Pedro Ximenez (25%) sherries. Using these Canasta casks to mature the whisky gives impressive layers of flavour; Oloroso sherry provides spice, and the Pedro Ximenez gives sweetness.
This no age statement released has no added colour, is non-chillfiltered and is bottled at a hearty 51.2% ABV. It provides a classic, unpeated Bunnahabhain dram.
Colour: Polished Mahogany
Nose: Presenting a classic sherried nose. Sweet and caramelised fruits notes with hints of honey roasted nuts, waves of cinnamon and clove
Palate: A swirl on the palate reveals maple syrup notes leading with creamy vanilla, dried figs, poached pears and a touch of cocoa. A gentle twist of orange twinkles in the background.
Finish: The long finish has sweet notes of brown sugar, red apples and hints of vanilla custard
