Produced in England using a traditional approach, Broker’s Export Gin is distilled at a higher strength than the standard bottling, giving it a more concentrated and assertive profile. The brand was established in the late 1990s, with its identity built around a classic British theme, reflected in its distinctive bowler hat bottle design. Distillation takes place in a historic distillery near Birmingham using copper pot stills. The base spirit is derived from English wheat and undergoes multiple distillations to achieve a high level of purity before botanical integration.
A total of ten botanicals are used, including juniper, coriander seed, nutmeg, cassia bark, and citrus peels. These are steeped in the base spirit for around 24 hours before redistillation, allowing essential oils to fully integrate. The export version is bottled at 47 percent alcohol, increasing both aromatic intensity and structural weight compared to the standard 40 percent expression. The production method follows a traditional London dry style, meaning no flavouring or sweetening is added after distillation. The higher strength enhances the perception of juniper and spice, making it particularly suited to classic cocktails such as martinis, where dilution can soften the profile without losing definition.
The overall style is direct and traditional, with a strong emphasis on juniper, citrus, and spice, supported by a relatively dry and structured base.
